What the papers said.....

Catriona Henderson brought all the energy and enthusiasm that is needed to play the buck-skinned, swaggering Calamity Jane. Calam's rival, Katie Brown, played by Sarah Kirk, well deserved her Lt. Danny Gilmartin (Aidan Kielty). Although not the matinee idol, Gary Hocking (Bill Hickok) delivered his character and songs with clarity and vigour. Andrew Kielty made an entertaining Francis Fryer and you could tell he enjoyed "playing the part enormously". Sheena Moore as Adelaide Adams, John Walker as Henry Miller, and Hannah Stockton as Susan were engaging in their roles.

The ensemble worked hard and created a good atmosphere. Direction was clear and unfussy and the choreography was not overstated so it didn't hinder the story from moving along. The M.D./assistant brought the best out of the music and the singing was satisfying.

Technically everything went along without a hitch which put the finishing touches to an enjoyable Calamity Jane.
