In Shaw's notes for Pygmalion he mentions the age of Eliza, "19 barely 20." Unfortunately, you cannot carry this through to your amateur performers as the role demands extreme experience to carry off the metamorphosis.

Sally Wild who played Eliza obviously has much talent and needs careful nurturing. In my opinion she is not quite ready to play such a demanding role. Alan Titley as Higgins used all his skills in yet another difficult role.

It is a loss to the amateur stage that Jean Geddes is hanging up her tap shoes. She will be greatly missed.
